Vertigo journey continues. Ive been thinking and thinking about this and realized last year after hip replacement i had episodes as well if i would turn my head to look behind me and back. Thought it was related to the surgery and narcotics for the pain during recovery at the time. So first episode i can remember was last July 2022 but it eventually stopped and only happened when i turned my head to look behind. I have had syncope since a child but that’s different. I always had warning via light headedness or black spots. Usually both. What the heck. Notes for self in case i forget about last summer again. Seems to be significantly worse when rising from a prone or nearly prone position, bending over and standing up or looking skyward.

Vertigo seems so scary! Sorry you are dealing with so much right now.

I have Xmas deer with lighted collars about 4 feet tall. Batteries are on tummy. I laid on my back a bit ago to change batteries out and nearly fainted. The room was spinning so hard and so fast. I laid there for a long time debating trying to call my neighbor on my Apple Watch i am now wearing most of the time due to his. Finally crawled hands and knees to couch and am doing better. I feel like ive been drugged best way to descibe it. It’s frightening.

Fritzy also thank you for your love🥰

YOH, it sounds to me like BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). It goes away. It’s good to learn how to position your head when you start feeling it coming on to minimize or stop the spinning sensation. There are YouTube videos on that, I bet. I have that occasionally, especially when dehydrated and/or fighting a viral infection.

Thank you AgnesZ i will look that up. The only thing is there is absolutely no warning. Which makes it scary.

Yes, it’s very scary, no warning whatsoever. I remember being really terrified the first couple of times I had it. You have to quickly grab onto something and try to steady yourself, reposition your head, take a few deep breaths. It’s typically most intense in the morning—I sometimes wake up to it and feel I’m going to get the spinning room if I open my eyes, so I shift my position keeping my eyes closed and wait for it to subside. It doesn’t happen a lot any more.

Talk to your doctor about a procedure to reposition crystals in your inner ear that cause these types of symptoms. There are 3-4 positional adjustment procedures that might be tried. All non invasive, can be done at home or guided by a physical therapist. The Epply has been very successful but there are several others as well.. you can GOOGLE inner ear crustal repositioning and read and see if it might apply to you. Worth a try.

That is so scary! My niece has vertigo and has had some pretty bad bouts with it. I wish I had answers or advice but I don't get it like that. My fainting is strictly related to low blood pressure. Stay safe my friend💜💜💜💜

Kenna i will do that. I welcome any thoughts from everyone on what might help or be the causation. Thank you so much.

Diana thank you. Today was pretty frightening. Home alone. Figured i could slide myself to the door to unlock it but was afraid to move for quite some time. For a person who has been fiercely independent my whole life this feels so threatening. You stay safe as well my love.

I think you may need to go to a specialist for blood tests. Good luck.

What Kenna said. Hope you find a solution, this is dangerous.

I would recommend finding a vestibular physical therapist! We help a lot of cases of vertigo on a daily basis.

My many years of such issues was related to Meniere's, first hit when I was 21...and now 71. My heart and prayers go out to all who suffer. The attacks come on quickly and can be so debilitating. Mine are rare now but after a fall in June, I had them for 2 months solid and couldn't frive etc. Now...I don't WANT to drive!

If you know you have been staying hydrated then I would go see a neurologist about it

I looked up syncope that you mentioned because I’ve never heard of it. One cause said pooling of blood into the legs legs so maybe you are having a blood circulation issue? Are you going to have any blood tests to see what’s going on? Maybe research foods that increase oxygen circulation in the blood system? I’d definitely sit up slowly and wiggle toes and hands in sitting up position for a few minutes before standing. I’m so sorry you are going through this vertigo symptoms!! Scary. Glad you wear your Apple Watch on at all times, but if it’s too sudden and you faint quickly…😬 I’m worried about you! Prayers sent up ⬆️

Sounds like Meniere's.

So my neighbor (she’s a nurse) came over last night to remove my stitches and suggested i lay down on my massive ottoman so she could see better. I was sitting on the ottoman and just laid back and oh my goodness the room started spinning faster than anything and i kept saying God (was i asking him for help? I dont know) and flailing my arms trying to stop the spinning i guess. She’s a tall strong girl like me and her 16 year old daughter is 5’10 and an athlete so luckily nothing bad happened to me. I didnt fall off the ottoman. It was the 3rd attack yesterday. So it seems pretty evident to me that it is probably situational positioning related. The 2nd one was earlier in the evening i was changing the batteries i think i posted about that earlier. The scary thing is feeling like i need to crawl on my hands and knees when it is over because i am afraid to stand up. I have an appt with neurologist but like everything medical those specialists are booked months out so not till April. I am, however, afraid to drive so feel trapped again in the house. Could be worse. Have to remember that. Storms, i dont have a circulation issue i did have bloodwork done and i am due for my super intensive labs in about a month (i get 3 a year). Morticia and Brenda i had thought about that a lot of the symptoms do match menieres. Including tinnitus which i have had off and on for years. Thanks guys🥰
