I've already started working on tomorrow! I put two 32-oz bottle of water into the fridge to get cold. I made a To Do list. I will need to have an organized day because I'll have my 8-year-old grand daughter from 2:30-8:00pm. I'll cook the sausage ahead of time, and then let her mix up the spaghetti sauce, and I'm going to teach her how to cook and shred spaghetti squash. I think she'll enjoy that. We'll also have to do her homework and give her a shower before I take her home.

What I haven't told y'all is that part of the source of my depression is that my best friend has been in a mental hospital out of state for the past 2-1/2 months, and there's no no estimate of when she will be able to come home. She is really miserable there, and it stresses me to know all that she is going through. I really MISS her, and though I get to talk to her most every day on the phone, it's not the same as BEING with her! (I also am banned from sending her packages - by her parents! They have given instructions that nothing from me is to be given to her.

She's 31 years old, and they do not respect ANY of her boundaries or rights. I got back a package that I had mailed in early March returned to sender, unopened, and a letter I sent around the same time.) It was VERY sad to receive them back, because I had put a LOT of work into making encouraging signs that could go on her walls to cheer her up, along with Command strips so the walls wouldn't be damaged. Here is a picture of what I sent -- nothing "bad" in the whole bunch of it! Just stuff to try to encourage her spiritually in a place where she has NO Christian influence. Her parents think it's "weird" that a 31-year-old girl can be best friends with a 64-year-old woman. Plus, I think her mother is jealous of our closeness. Love transcends time and age!

We actually MET in a local mental hospital back in March of last year. God ordained our meeting! That same stay was where I met Dwayne, the homeless alcoholic who had been living on the streets, drunk, for the past two years. God impressed upon me to invite him home to stay with us. (This was NOT something I would ever have imagined to do on my own!) He's been with us now since March 8th and is a part of our family! He mows the church grass, takes out the garbage, helps with the vacuuming, unloads the dishwasher, and does odd jobs for other people in the church to get money to buy his cigarettes. My daughter set him up with Food Stamps (EBT) so that he could help out with the grocery money - and it is a BIG help! Dwayne got saved his second week with us, and has only had ONE drinking day at the 6-month mark.

Anyway, I guess the bottom line here is that I'd much rather you pray for my best friend than to pray for me. She has a bright future ahead of her, and she feels the pressure of time passing her by. She wants to be an actress, and wants to find love and have a large family. There is MUCH disfunction between her and her parents. They actually went into her condo while she's been gone and threw away some of her artwork that she had personally made because they didn't approve of it or want things on the walls (even with safety strips that didn't do any damage). They also changed the condo locks, so my friend won't even be able to get IN unless they choose to LET her in! It is VERY hard for me to not hold grudges on my friend's behalf! (I know I'm being obscure about her name, but with her aspiring acting career, she doesn't want all this to get out to the tabloids to come and bite her in the future.) I just wanted to share with y'all because I know you care, and that many of you are prayer warriors,.

Thanks for listening! You're good friends, and I appreciate you!

So sorry about your friend and what you're going through. Her parents sound like narcissists that have sucked the very life out of her. I hope she can someday get away from them for good. This too shall pass. Keeping both of you in my thoughts. 💜💐

Just read this. My prayers for your friend, and for you. You are such a precious soul, to help a homeless man, by bringing him home. Most people, including me, would feel too scared to do it. As the weather gets better, and your plants grow, I think your mood will also lift. Force yourself to go out and walk in the sun, and you will see much improvement. God Bless You!
