Sunday was good, swam, walked, did stuff that needed to get done. It was also clear and sunny. That really helps set the mood.
Noticed that my heart rate doesn't record well when the water is colder. Noticed this the past couple of swims since I turned the temp down. Not concerned, just interesting. Swim was 870 strokes, 10.7METs, average heart rate of 155. 21 minutes in warm up, 10 in peak. Not sure that's how I felt about it, but okay. Also proves my point about the heart rate measurements.
Walked the dogs afterward, 2.35 miles. nice clear night, good way to wind down before bed. Still no pics. just nothing interesting. I do have two raccoons in my yard, saw them on the camera last night. Big chonker and a mini, but not a baby. Thankfully, they're staying to the front yard, but the dogs can't go out unattended anymore anyways because of the skunks. Who'd guess I live in the city?

Cities are the only place I have seen raccoons and skunks

Kat, that is interesting about the difference in measuring your heart rate. The difference with animals in the city as opposed to a rural area, is the city has rules on how you can deal with them, whereas rural area you do what you need to do. Took me a while to get used to that after moving to rural area.

oh, I've lived in rural areas before, and yup, you do what you need to do. thankfully, these raccoons have been around a number of years and are city smart about dogs (and cat food). and I know enough that I don't want the dogs to tangle with them because while the dogs might win, it would likely be a bloody aftermath that I know I don't want to deal with. in this neighborhood, less than a mile from downtown, we have skunks, possums, fox, coyotes, raccoons, snakes, lizards, hawks, falcons, owls, and an occasional wildcat, although I have never had to deal with the last one.

In the suburbs of Los Angeles we have all those. I see coyotes and opossums all the time. Of course there are squirrels but also a peacock flies around and makes a really big mess on the patio and roofs. There was a bear a 1/2 mile from here, and I smell skunks around. The lizards help keep the cricket population down.

Kat, that's definitely the smart what to handle city wildlife. 👍
