Day 1 of a planned 1 days of ‘low carb eating’

I was able to make it until last night before I broke down and had some miso soup and protein powder in my evening tea.

I wasn’t hungry during the two days that I attempted to water fast, but it still took a lot to mental effort to not eat or snack on something. My emotions go up and down during the day and eating is how I deal with emotions. So, to deny myself this comfort, takes a lot of mental effort.

So today I’m back on the usual protein drinks, and tonight I’ll have a ribeye steak.

Also, today I plan a 5 mile 🏃🏾‍♂️ run.

@jimmiepop - Thanks. I wasn't hungry at all, and could have gone 5-7 days (if not for the 'mental effort'). At least I now know I *can* do it... And, I obviously can do it again, once I work up the 'mental energy' again 😜

Hi there! Yes, a lot of fasting is psychological. What kind of fasting are you trying to do? A lot of people start off with 18:6 or 16:8 time restricted eating (TRE) until they get the hang of it. I fast 42 hours every other day (have been doing that for 6 weeks) so if you have any questions let me know! Make sure you keep your electrolytes up during the fast.

@ny_shelly - I was able to lose nearly 40 pounds three years ago water fasting. The 'mental issues' I am having this time around are related to the COVID lockdown. This will eventually pass... Thanks!
