Ok, this is getting ridiculous! Since 2/13: 242, 241.8, 241.5, 242.5, 242, 242.5, 241.5, 242.5, 241.5, 242! TEN days of basically staying the same weight! I'm doing everything right, I think! Drinking 15 cups of water a day. Fasting 16:8. Have been in "optimal" ketosis every day. Keeping calories under 1,600 (usually around 1,300), Fats 69-76% (usually 70), Net Carbs under 25g (highest percentage has been 10%), decreased Diet Coke from 2-liters a day to 2-3 cans, I get at least 10 hours of sleep a night.

I should be able to lose weight doing all this, right??? I'm getting very fed up! This morning, I am totally discouraged. Insanity is "doing the same thing and expecting different results," right? I've completed 16 days of Keto. During that tie, I've lost 4.5 pounds, BUT, I lost ALL of that in the first week! Since then, for TEN DAYS, I've lost nothing.

I'm going to have a bowl of oatmeal with raisins and pecans, followed by a naval orange! Screw this crap!

Debbie, I also got into a crazy stall with strict low carb so I am now on a diet I found when cleaning out my file drawer (I kept a lot of diets I used when I was younger). I thought this would 'shake things up'. Sometimes I think our body gets accustomed to what we are doing and just stops loosing. I know mine does. It is amazing some folks don't understand and think I'm cheating or doing something not on the plan when I don't loose or gain, well ScRe# them! I think it is good to mix things up every once in awhile. If you want to stay on Keto/low carb have you tried a 3 day fat fast? I've done that before also and might go on it after my 4 day diet I"m doing now, then go on the Mayo (not mayonnaise or related to the Clinic) diet recommended for 12 days 2 days off. Take care of YOU :-)

Did you go back and check on how you ate the last time you lost on keto?

sometimes if we restrict too much our bodies hold onto fat because it thinks we are starving. it may take more time or keto may not work for you. maybe try a more balanced diet like Mediterranean. it's much easier to maintain long term and it isn't as restrictive. and maybe try to get closer to the 1600 rather than 1300. that's very low! healthy weight loss is so slow and it's totally normal to go through periods like this. Also look at how you are exercising, you may need to switch it up!

Hang in there! Stalled weight loss happens to all of us. Try to vary your types of food and decrease the Diet Coke to one a day..

Plateaus are common in weight loss. Some can last 10 days or more. Keep at it. Don't get discouraged.

Using a food scale and measuring spoons/cups will stop sneaky calories. More activity will burn more. Pushing past stalls and not giving up is the way to go.

I took a peek at your food and looks good for keto, I don't know what's going on...I have faith that you will figure out what you need to do, be it change something or stay the course. Just know that support is all around you 🥰

Debbie you took the hardest step and that was starting. Don’t give up, you can do this! 🎉 We all hit the weight loss plateau, sometimes more than once. Breathe- you got this! Take one day at a time. Remember to be patient and gentle with yourself. Stay hydrated water is key to weight loss. Remember won’t happen over night it takes time & patience. My weight loss journey started November 2015 and I was 357 pounds. I’ve lost 177 pounds so far, tweaking what works for me along the way. I’m on my 2nd plateau since October 2019. I might have gotten past it but , Just coming back from month & a half of reckless eating 🤣 ( out of state move, travels, packing, painting, unpacking) So we are just trying to get our good habits back of intermittent fasting everyday, css as calorie counting, measuring everything & logging everything I eat. It’s a process but so worth it, being healthy is the goal!! 😊 Everyone will have different results, due to age, physical limitations, health conditions etc. Everyone’s journey is different but our goal the same being healthy and comfortable in our skin. Keep moving forward and stay focused. Good luck on your healthy lifestyle journey. 🍀🍀🍀 🍀👍😊 🍀🍀 stay safe and healthy.

Over a month, I lost a whopping 1.8 pounds and it was frustrating. I hear you. Recently, the pounds started coming off faster. Stick to it. Also - when it comes to weight loss diets, I can't take daily weights seriously.

The only way I’ve been able to lose weight is eating six times per day—every 2-3 hours—with 10g protein at each meal. One meal has 6 oz. protein with 3 servings of non-starchy vegetables. I drink over a gallon of water per day and keep my calorie intake at about 1,200 calories. I think eating so often controls my insulin, and that’s what’s really helping because I’m not in fat storage mode. Hope this helps!

When I first started counting calories in September, I went through a similar frustrating phase that I mainly kept to myself because I was so upset about it. If you look back at my logs, it says I averaged less than 1600 calories a day in September and I didn't see any big loss, in fact, some parts of the month, it felt like I had just gained back all or most of what I'd lost. In the following months, my calories were higher, but my losses more significant, predictable and consistent, though never completely. My guess is that in September, I was tracking my food and activity inaccurately, was coming out of a very strict keto phase so got some gain from glycogen as I reintroduced carbs AND had been in severe caloric restriction for a few weeks which had probably artificially lowered my starting weight. All that to say that in the first weeks or even MONTH of switching from one diet to another or changing something significant, one might not see the results one desires or any big difference. Anyway, I think long-term results that stick take time, and are never completely predictable even though being consistent does somewhat reduce the "randomness" of the scale. I still have an odd day here and there where I think I've tracked all my food carefully, moved more, and still see a gain, and days when I get losses I don't expect. I try to look at the bigger picture and also give things more time than I expect/hope.

I started Jan 5th 323, 1200- 1500 calories a day, down 306, just last week nothing changed and I'm up 2 pounds, so I understand the frustration, sometimes it's better to gauge inches lost because all the sudden you will drop later on the scale, you're still doing great.

dont be discouraged, if you are counting your calories exactly right and if u are in a calorie deficit then it means u are loosing weight! the problem is loosing 4.5 lb in first week! thats not actually fat ! for every gram of carbohydrates u eat, ur body needs 3 gram of water to store it, there is glycogen and water in muscles, when u switch to keto and stop eating carbs, all the water and glycogen is flushed out of ur body! what u actually lost in the first week is a max of 2 lbs if u wana see the scale drop, cut ur water by 10%, it must show, that being said we are assuming that u are in a deficit and counting calories right and remember 1lb=3500 calories it means u should eat in calorie deficit of 500 calories a day for a week to loos 1 lb

Take your time but do not quit. Isn't it better today than how you felt and ate the last months of the previous year ? Oatmeal, raisins, pecans and an orange aren't bad at all. Use moderate quantities. Weigh them and log. Keep calories at this level and be patient. It takes time. Sooner or later your body will adjust, follow and reward you. And do keep a body measurements log. Inches and body weight do not go side by side. And go for a little walk every day. Not for the calories, just for the mood. It makes miracles.

Try just counting calories only, if you give up sugar and starch you will be amazed. Relax, get off the Keto!
