My average daily calories have increased to around 2000 the past couple of weeks. Although I can eat 2000 calories some days, like workout days, I really need to scale it it back a few days. I think around 1800 to 1850 would be better for maintenance. I have gained 3 lbs. over goal & need to get a handle on it before it goes up anymore. I don't feel like my meals are a problem. My portions are good. I have been indulging a little more with my after dinner desserts, though. I have made a habit of having combo desserts. I need to pick just one treat & stick with that. I really enjoy my Italian Ices. So if that's my dessert choice, I shouldn't have it and a cookie or slice of cake. I also chose to have a cocktail a couple of nights over the weekend, and Hubby & I shared a bottle of wine on Thanksgiving evening. I haven't given up having a drink occasionally, but I do need to remember to be selective as to how often.

Back to the Gym today. Had a pretty decent workout. I did keep the calories scaled back today. I asked Hubby what he'd like for dinner & he said spaghetti. At first, I said I didn't need spaghetti, but gave it some thought. I made a homemade sauce with fresh tomatoes, peppers, onion & celery. I added 4oz. of ground beef each & made sure we had a 2 oz. serving of linguini each. I did have a slice of Rosemary Olive Oil loaf, but it was about 60 calories.

I have Book Club Wednesday night, so I'll just have to watch portion sizes there. I think our hostess is serving salmon, so that won't be bad.

On the Christmas decorating front, I've continued to do little bits like bring out the Christmas dish towels, switch out my coffee mugs. Yesterday, I rearranged house plants. I have to move some to another spot so I can put the tree there. I cleaned the sunroom....vacuumed & cleaned the floor.

I want to bring down the boxes of decorations from the attic in the next few days. The trees are stored in our small basement storage area, so they have to come up.

Off to bed now.

I love that you have Christmas dish towels! I have Christmas mugs, but they are packed away for my move in the spring. I love your food pictures because they give me hope of how I might be able to eat when I reached maintenance, 40 pounds from now! Love your portion control.

Fritzy, I have dish towels for Christmas🎄🐧, Fall 🍁🍂, Easter/ Spring 🐇🌷🪻 😊 Some are used for actually drying dishes & some are decorative only. I'm glad you enjoy my food postings. For me it's all about the portion control. If I watch that, I can eat pretty much anything I like. I'm rooting for you to get there, too! I'm excited for you getting to start a new adventure in a new city & home 😊
