This sudden weight gain is baffling to me. My best guess is that, because I wasn't drinking water during covid, I lost 5 pounds of water retention during that time, and since I've started drinking it again, I've started retaining again. My knees do feel "tight" like they might have some fluid on them. Weird. They didn't feel like that when I had covid. Makes me want to quit drinking water again. Who doesn't want a 5-pound water loss? But, I guess the water benefits outweigh the desire to just see the scale go down.

Got up at 2am this morning to get my walking and all my "regular stuff" done early. My husband and I are planning to go out at 6:45, when it gets light, to pick up pine cones on the church property. It is supposed to get up to 84 today, and it's already 68 degrees at 5:30am. Today will be record heat for this time of year.

I'm thankful that I've had the energy to do a couple of things that I normally wouldn't attempt. Yesterday I raked the leaves out of my hosta bed and away from the back of the house. It feels like I've said all this before, so I'll quit talking.

Only have 1/2 mile more to finish to get in my 2.5 for this morning. Going to be challenging to wait from my 2am breakfast until my 11am lunch. I usually only go six hours between breakfast and lunch and four hours between lunch and dinner. Maybe I'll eat lunch at 10 instead of 11 today.

When you retain water, the water isn't the culprit. It's usually due to something you ate. Keep drinking your water 😊

Sounds to me like you need to balance your electrolytes. Have you had your sodium levels checked?

water retention has many reasons. excess salt, excess carbs, hormones, inflammation due to a stressor, or poor blood circulation sometimes due to diabetes.
