I don't want to reset my goal (144) but I can't say I wouldn't mind getting to 140 or lower. I tried last Summer & decided it wasn't important. One reason I didn't want to get much thinner is I don't want to get a gaunt, old lady look. Now that I'm working on building some muscle, I'm thinking I could possibly be OK with 5 more lbs. less.

Today was a good day @ the Gym. Compared to those that have been going for awhile, my routine at this point is probably pretty easy. I was able to maneuver my way thru without fumbling too much. I also did all of my reps on each machine I did. Wed. I gave up a couple of times when it got too hard. I did 35 minutes on the treadmill as a warm up & 30 minutes on the bike afterwards. Hubby & I have set a goal to go Monday, Wednesday, Friday each week & we just finished our 2nd week 😊 I could definitely feel I'd worked some muscles afterwards.

I want to try to do a light workout at home on at least 2 of the non Gym days....some Yoga, stretching, toning & light weights. I need to do it early in the day before I get busy & distracted. For the past couple of weeks we've followed our usual morning routine...coffee, breakfast, housework... like cleaning the kitchen, making bed, etc...then we get ready to go to the Gym. I should be able to do that for Yoga etc. since I don't have to drive anywhere. We have been walking most afternoons.

We stopped for a few groceries on the way home. We bought porkchops & a couple of NY Strip steaks. We had the chops tonight with a yellow squash from our niece's garden. I need to have lunch with my sister again...I need more tomatoes 🍅😁 I still have a spaghetti squash & a huge zucchini to cook. And a couple of cucumbers. It started pouring rain so we put off the steak til it's nice & Hubby can grill it. Hubby picked out a Boston Cream Cake for dessert. I had a small slice with strawberries tonight...still came in under 1600 calories.

I doubt that losing 20 pounds would make you look gaunt on a 5'4" frame. If anything, you would actually be able to see the muscles that you're now working on developing. Burning off the excess would also smooth out any trouble spots, like back fat or a pooch, etc. The really important thing is how adding muscle and reducing excess fat would affect your organs, and may help you get off of any medications (which is a question for the doctor, of course). Also applies to your Hubby. ❤️‍🩹

Bananas, I have no desire to lose 20 lbs. Maybe 10 down from my current goal would be the max, putting me at 134....that's 7.8 lbs. less than my weight this morning. If I build some muscle you will be able to see it at my current weight. At my age....67 in a couple of months....there is such a thing as being too thin. I have a couple of friends my age that lost weight & their faces do look a bit gaunt. Even my trainer, who is very muscular & petite is around 130 lbs. She says she was about 115 for awhile but has determined that's not her ideal weight. Her body fat % is very low.
