Happy Monday. Swam in daylight yesterday, 822 strokes, slow and steady, still ten clicks slower than normal, but okay with that for now. 10METs, heart rate in mid 120s which is good because that range is where I decided I wanted to stay when I started.

Went to lunch with BF at a local place. They need to figure out how to fully reopen, businesses are not going to make it much longer without customers. Had a turkey burger instead of my usual breakfast sandwich, it was good, but I think if I'm making the effort to eat out, it's going to be a splurge next time. As it worked out, it was fine. After I swam, my neighbor texted and asked if I wanted some freshly baked pastel de nata, and I don't think that no is ever an option for fresh, warm pastries. That was my appetizer followed by some egg whites with cheese. I have one left. soooo good. I think I'll save it for lunch though.

Slept with no towel, no painkillers and just did TENS before slipping into bed. It is so much better today than yesterday. I know I need to watch the sitting at work and not screw myself up again by, oh, say hauling a 40 lb bag of dog food into the house, but the improvement is good and I am relieved. Why I'm keeping the speed down on the pool as well. It's not that I can't swim faster, it's that if I screw up and get tossed to the side, that the motion might upset the healing that's going on. See, even an idiot can figure some things out on their own.

There is a young sparrow that keeps flying into the glass doors of my office this morning. Kinda dumb like me, but will figure it out eventually. And yes, I did chase it off twice already, it is just determined to get the bird in the window. Thankfully, it's just doing this from the deck, not out of the air, so survival is likely unless the neighbor's cat or our juvenile hawk decides to make a meal of it. I caught him sitting on a neighbor's bird feeder yesterday. Nature isn't always kind, but it is very cool.

We put peanuts in the shell on the deck rail for the Blue Jays. A hawk swooped in after a Jay a few weeks ago. I don't know if it actually got one but it scared the heck out of me!
