And, just think this drop is after I had a 3500 surplus day last Saturday and in lieu of cutting all my workouts in half just to lower the activity level.

A few things this a.m.,

my Mom sent me an article by the NYT the other days about some new research being done on the molecular changes that happen in our bodies when we engage in exercise.

It's pretty dang amazing, actually. And, apparently we're not just talking about "specific" molecules. A whole gob of different kinds of molecules go through some dramatic stimulation. Kind of like a symphony of sorts and even more interesting is that every person's molecular symphony responds differently. No one person's molecular dance is the same when exercise happens.

I couldn't help but think of this form and its own molecular transformation since 2017 and how conditioning impacts what & how the body transforms on the molecular, especially with regards to body recomposition, or even what genes are turned off and on. It's a good read.

Mom and I always wonder if the genes responsible for a higher metabolism might have been switched on in me. As I continue to lean out, this form resembles a great deal more the Indian side of my ethnicity. Lean, sinewy, lots of lean muscle mass, and indeed very high metabolism. It's hard to know, because this is first time in any period of my life where I weighed this little, exercised at this intensity and consistency in tandem with eating as much as I do.

We definitely know something in the epi-genetics switched on with regards to the MS, especially since I was diagnosed in my 40's. This stuff always fascinates the hell out of me. If we think our societies and cultures are complex, just look at the mechanisms in your own body. It's mind blowing.

Anyhow, I hope it is not too late for for a flex Friday pic. These tri-ceps are coming along nicely and I have now graduated to doing my dips on the actual dip bars instead of the weight bench! Yay!

I have my annual MRI tomorrow morning, crossing fingers, toes, and all bodily molecules that everything comes up roses!

Wow great work. I hope the MRI has only good things to show!! I also read a book recently called Spark which was similar, all about exercise and the brain and body chemistry. Super fascinating

Thank you, purple - I live for the hustle! And, thank you HCB - I'll take all the well wishes I can get on MRI day. My scans have shown no new lesions or progression since diagnosis in 2017, and I petition the universe it stays that way :-) You're such a sweetheart Keilin!
