Sitting in the doctors office waiting for my wrist to be x-rayed — boxing 🥊 boo-boo. Drama and excitement when they took my blood pressure, as I hit a new low: 86/55. And that’s with breakfast and a pot of black coffee, plus walking 3 miles to get here. (I feel normal, and I don’t take any meds.)

That’s my girl always looking for the positive🥰. Here’s to hoping you get good news on the wrist. When did you start boxing? They offered that at the gym i went to for years and years (was owned by a pro boxer) and I never tried tho i found it fascinating

Bananas that blood pressure is on the low side… lowest does not mean better. Lack of pressure to feed the blood to your extremities. And no boxing, what’s the point of it? It’s very damaging to the joints, leave it for the youngins

eesh, hope the wrist is ok! low blood pressure is common if you do a good amount of cardio

@Morticia and @OTB: no fracture; it’s a ganglion cyst, which has now been drained— Yay!!! The x-ray did confirm arthritis in the pad of my thumb area , but luckily nowhere else in my hand 👍.

@Ashley and @Super: I have had very low blood pressure my whole life, but I think with doing cardio daily lately it is a bit lower than usual. It is only a problem when I feel dizzy 🥴. When that happens I just go heavy handed with the salt shaker. I’ve boxed for 20 years off and on just to mix up my cardio.

@YOH: boxing is so fun! GF & I are sharing sessions with a personal trainer to make it an activity date. Highly recommend for you and Hot Hubs once you are post-fragile and can handle pushups again 🤗

Maybe. That gym wound up selling for big bucks and they dont box anymore. You should post a pic. I would love to see that! What’s the verdict on the wrist?

coffee makes you loose fluids, cut back do lemon water

@YOH: Supposed to keep it in a brace for 2 weeks, visit the physical therapist and do exercises to help with the arthritis, and give it 4-6 weeks to make sure the cyst doesn’t return. If comes back, then he drains it again and shoots it full of a steroid.

Glad the wrist is ok. I’ve always had low-ish blood pressure too, idk why 🤷‍♀️ I take it to mean I can eat whatever salt I want. Especially since so much is lost through sweat in a hot dry climate, and due to lots of exercise. Since I’m not eating a lot of processed foods I don’t censor the salt shaker at all 😎

@ddrudd and @bear: my fellow low BP sisters -- salt is the magic! Love that we never have to sacrifice the flavor of food 🧂. @Red and @Swayne: thanks, and yes I commit to a full pot of rich black coffee every morning. Plus a gallon of water and 1-2 cups of hot tea daily.
