Yesterday, motivated to just ‘slow down’ on the compulsive eating and lack of exercise, I only drank 🥛 protein drinks and I did a 5 mile 🏃🏾‍♂️ run.

This combination always allows me to drop a lot of water weight. Carbs and excessive protein turn into glucose and that glucose is stored in my liver and muscles as glycogen, and every gram of glycogen requires 3 to 4 grams of water to bind the glycogen to muscle tissue (using hydrogen bonding).

So, reducing my glycogen reserves and minimizing my carb intake causes a weight reduction. That would be great if all those carbs only turned into glycogen, but a lot of those carbs and excess protein get turned to fat 😆.

I can see (in my gut and face and neck), and feel the extra fat on my body. I know it will take weeks of my usual up and down water weight gain and loss cycles for it to slowly go back down.

💦 I wish I could just fast 11 days like I have done in the past, but, no way I can find that willpower, not enough motivation. I was more motivated when I was 40-50 pounds over my BMI wight, not 8 pounds like I am now...

@Draglist - Thanks! I got a rapid drop after vacation the same way you did 👍🏾. However, while it is measured in only ounces, I know my 'net fat storage' went *up*. The only way I can move it *down* is at least a week of low carb and extensive exercise... I just need to find the motivation Haha!

@erikahollister - Yeah I have been 'stuck' in the 170s for 5 months (sigh). Every time I make progress and drop to my BMI weight, a holiday hits and I go off the diet and gain 😜

@Alnona - Yes that is true with me. What is also true with me is that my 'motivation' is always based on a 'fear'. Before it was the fear of turning 50 and being harder to ever lose the weight. Now, it is just hard-to-get-motivated! So, the 'closer to the goal' the 'less fear' that I will achieve it? Or, perhaps just simply less motivation to hit the goal? You really can't 'see' the 8 pounds I would still like to lose when my clothes are on...

This is what is happening with me, I also want a motivation to lose the rest of my goal, people, they tell me that I look thin and I have no increase at all. But in fact I know that if I stop fasting, deficit calories and limit carbohydrates at least to 50 g, it will not work. I also want the former motivation which is the fear of being overweight again
