You can make a low-calorie, highly nutritious pizza. I see a lot of people eating basket-sized salads that have more calories than an ice cream cone. There's no need to view food as punishment or reward. Just make smart choices and eat what you love.

how limited is the nutritional value of pizza? there's bread, meat, dairy, and quite often at least some veggies and sometimes fruit. then there's a tomato based sauce. I don't know the actual nutrition info on pizza, and I'm sure there are more efficient ways to get the same nutrients with fewer calories, but with everything that goes into a good pizza, I have to wonder

I think my scale is hexed. it has only balances 2 lb up or down for a month. it doesn't matter what I eat. should I give it a rest and not weigh for awhile, fast, or pig out..? then start over. getting very discouraged !

Vocatus here's something I found on Papa Johns Pizza site for what I would norm eat on my fav pizza. Wow, it really breaks down what you get in their pizza slice! Three cheers for Papa Johns! Nutritional Facts Total Calories 335 cal Calories from Fat 175 Cal Total Fat 19.0 g Saturated Fat 7.0 g Trans Fat 0.0 g Cholesterol 45 mg Sodium 830 mg Total Carbohydrate 19.0 g Dietary Fiber 0.0 g Sugars 1.0 g Protein 13.0 g I've found pizza to be a well rounded meal depending on it's contents, amount and your needs of nourishment of the day. Papa Johns will be my go to for estimating future pizza nutrition!

Whatever your plan it has to fit your life. I love food so nothing is really off limits though due to asthma and migraine triggers avoid most processed foods. However a little now and then especially at someone else's home etc, no biggie.

I use Mission Carb Balance tortillas for my pizza. One tortilla is just 5 carbs. It makes a personal size, thin crust and we put whatever toppings in moderation. This meal is usually 250-290 cals depending on the amount of meats and cheese. It was a great alternative for those watching carbs and still want pizza aaaand its so easy. Cut into 4 pieces and plate :)

I think I had a corn tortilla with cheese, beans, and meat. This is what the German folk call a tortilla. And some rooster sauce too.....for some kick. Had cauliflower pizza 2 weeks ago and it tasted like licking the back of ten thousand envelopes.......just not that good but spongy.

What Vocatus said, pizza and salads benefit you in different ways. The salad may be better for micros but if you're comparing the salad and pizza listed in the pics, I'd choose the pizza every time for a more balanced meal. Protein, carbs, fats, and sodium are important in my plan for muscle building. Also, the crust is not "bad" it's just carbs. Glycogen replenishing carbs.

I’ve chosen salads over pizza. Ya know when I was super obsessed about keeping a strict diet and strict deficit lol. Diablos comment is why I live his attitude so much. He makes me believe I can eat pizza a lot. Well not a lot as I really don’t know when to stop and have leftovers for days. But ya get my point ;). Dang it, now I want pizza. With a small side salad ;).

Best of both worlds: CiCi's pizza buffet. Build a salad with diverse ingredients, then eat a slice each of a few different types of pizza :)
