Day 2 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fastingBlood sugar 97 mg/dL
I didn’t 🏃🏾♂️ run yesterday, I haven’t run in two days ☹ I think that really makes a difference for me. I will run today. Recently, I seem to always gain weight one day during my ‘no solid food fast’, so hopefully this is the only day.
I can see my abs… however, they are not ‘ripped’. Let’s see what they look like when my body fat drops below 20%...
I tried something new yesterday, I make my 🥛 Protein shakes without the 💪🏾 Protein.. So I just drank Splenda, Heavy Cream, and hot water. Later I started to put it in tea and that was much better. This was not nearly as filling as a shake with protein, but it was ‘mentally’ much better than just water. I will try it again today.
Loved this:
Death of the calorie
https://www.1843magazine.com/features/death-of-the-calorie”When food is burned in a laboratory it surrenders its calories within seconds. By contrast, the real-life journey from dinner plate to toilet bowl takes on average about a day, but can range from eight to 80 hours depending on the person. A calorie of carbohydrate and a calorie of protein both have the same amount of stored energy, so they perform identically in an oven. But put those calories into real bodies and they behave quite differently.”
“Some people’s intestines are 50% longer than others: those with shorter ones absorb fewer calories, which means that they excrete more of the energy in food, putting on less weight.”
The end result, in my mind, is that ‘a calorie is a calorie’ but it ‘behaves’ differently in me than it does in others. I must log everything and make decisions looking at my *own* numbers.

Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!
