I read a lot of articles and a book about "Gut Microbiome", metabolism and inflammation. I find nutrition fasinating.
I used to drink a lot of wine. I stopped completely 2.5 years ago BUT!! I made the big mistake of replacing it with DIET Ginger Beer. I think the artificial sweetners really mucked up my gut health and over 18 months I gained a lot of belly fat. My Visceral fat got to 3.6 kilo.I found this out by doing the EVOLT "Body Composition Test' at my "anytime Fitness Gym"
For months now Ive been eating a lot of raw food mainly from a salad I make up and eat 4-5 times a week with good quality protein eg: Atlantic Salmon or Prawns.
It comprises of Spinach, Sprouted Legumes,Red Capsicum,Spring Onions, Red Onion, Black Grapes, Baby Tomato, Baby Carrot, Beetroot - all RAW. Topped with half an Avocado Dressed with a homemade Condensed Milk,Mustard and Malt Vinegar Dressing.
Yes, Condensed Milk has sugar in it but it allowed me to eat really large amounts of salad FIBRE!!!
I also eat Blueberries daily and have concocted a tea I drink often made of Hibiscus Flower, Green Tea, Fresh Ginger,Organic Apple Cider Vinegar,Lime Juice and I sweeten with a Strawberry & a Blueberry tea bag - fused overnight.
I think getting my gut health back in order has huge difference to my slow but steadt weight loss. Plus I set my goal in two stages so it wasnt so daunting.
I reached my goal Yiphee!!!
