Still holding steady, although I'm not sure how. Three days of anxiety eating this week. My husband mentioned that he doesn't understand how I eat that much and maintain. It's made me a little self conscious. I do know I need to real in sugar and bump up veggies, but those seem to be the constant challenges.
Need to do some cooking projects today -- seitan, yogurt, kombucha, vegan mayo dressing. Evaluate the fridge to see what needs to be prioritized and what may need to be restocked.
Really looking forward to retiring in less than a year. It'll make it easier to cook and exercise more.
Happy Sunday, everyone! 😃

I am a recovering suagar addict and love dark chocolate or anything sugary. I have to keep everything out of the house and have even had my husband hide the semi sweet chocolate morsels. I think you have a good plan in place and I meal prep to help curb my cravings during the week. I want to retire too but one thing I tell myself is that I have to take care of myself so that I can retire and enjoy it.

I was thinking like Otb, that it's the skiing. Just being outside in the snows burns calories

Thanks, redporchlady 😊 We're at the point where we're just planning to not bring more chocolate chips or granola bars into the house, which are my biggest downfall at home. We still have more to go through, and I'm trying to moderate. Work...ikes. I get anxious and tired, and the business manager has a bowl of Hershey's Nuggets and there a fun sized candy bars in the break room for 20 cents. I doubt I'll cut out added sugars completely, but at home it'll be modest amounts of maple syrup, blackstrap molasses, and honey, and a stash of white sugar strictly for kombucha. (Can't make it without it.) I don't generally go overboard on those. We're eliminated foods from our grocery list and cooking rotation before, like pretzels and granola, and I've learned that after a while, I not only don't miss them, I don't even think about them. There's a lot to be said for creating an environment where it's easy to make healthy choices and hard to make unhealthy ones

I think a lot of us struggle with sugar. The holidays are over and I am sending that message to my brain. Time to shed some more pounds for me.

buenitabishop, I make my own with silken tofu. There are a lot of recipes out there. Fritzy -- true, the cold weather does take a little more energy to counteract. Morticia -- you got this! 😃

Agree with you on keeping the home free of temptations. I like that your husband is on board with your needs, even if it's slightly inconvenient for him💚. So the granola bars -- are those supposed to be for hikes and ski sessions? Do you keep the snacks in the garage?

JB - actually, cutting down on the sweet stuff was his idea 😊 The granola bars are, in theory, for hiking and skiing. In practice, I have weak moments on tired mornings when they sneak into breakfast or as a workplace snack. Not an every day thing -- I'm savvy enough to know they're basically health-washed cookies. Not hiding them or the chocolate in the garage since the plan is to go through them eventually. My goal is to do that slowly, though
