I'm happy that I finally achieved my weekly goal of a loss of 1 pound minimum. Met the goal the first 2 weeks of the year but then only lost a fraction of a pound, stayed the same and gained (1.2 pounds) for weeks 3 through 6. But after 7 full weeks of the year my total loss is 8 pounds, mostly from losing 5.4 pounds the first week. At least the average is meeting the goal. I'm feeling good that the pounds are coming off even if slower than ever - but then I am also slower than ever. I have really been working on taking longer walks and getting in more steps. I think I did 13,000 steps yesterday and similar for the 3 or 4 days before. Bobby is liking the longer walks but he is still licking his paw, between the 2 toes that had a tick, until it is red, swollen and raw. Waiting for the booties that I ordered from Amazon (thanks Katsolo for the suggestion)

I ordered the next size down on a pair of joggers. Hope they will fit, years ago I started a diet and ordered a pair of jeans that I thought would fit. They were so tight I couldn't get them up over my knees! Once they fit, I ordered the next size down, and when they fit ordered the next size down. Did that from size 14 (when I should have been in 16) to size 6. Settled in at a size 8 for several years. I'm hoping that will provide me with motivation again. It will take a couple more sizes to be close to a size 14 this time, sadly.

I'm having toasted rye bread today since I don't have to weigh myself until next Sunday. I lost weight this week in spite of the 2 days I had the toast with butter for breakfast and lunch. Right now I have the same way of thinking as when I did Weight Watchers many years ago. I remember going to meetings on Thursday nights after work, and then several of us going out to eat afterwards. We'd usually get a piece of pie or something bad. I wouldn't really follow the plan until after the weekend and by Thursday night I had lost weight. Don't really want to do that now, but it feels like I can take it easy for at least today.

Thanks Morticia. Eating out is just about the only way for me to have any kind of social life. I've only gone out to eat twice this year so far. When I eat out, I eat very !little the rest of the day. I've got a friend who will walk with me, hopefully at least once or twice a week.
