On Friday I got my Shingles Shot and, like all the days I've received vaccinations these past needle-heavy 2 years, I proceeded to do a massive workout in a race against the side effects.
So I did my usual morning Pilates/resistance band workout and then walked 13.5 miles for various errands. That's a half marathon😮. On Saturday my feet ached and the injection spot on my arm was tender, but otherwise I had no symptoms.👍🏻🤔. Had planned to just spend the day in bed, reading & napping, but instead I got up early and did my morning workout like usual and just soaked my feet.
Random stuff: For the last month or so I've skipped breakfast on weekends. I've been portioning out a serving of Friday & Saturday night's dinner as soon as it's cooked and have eaten that instead of fruit at lunchtime on Saturdays & Sundays. It's allowing me to bump up my weekend protein intake while also reducing my portion size at dinner. I don't track calories, as I eat very slowly and stop when no longer hungry, but I do add up potassium and protein in my head, as they're my primary concerns.
Scale's batteries died. Weight is registering as "Lo" 😄
More Random: Growing up my parents saved grocery money by relying on their ginormous vegetable garden and fruit trees. Snacks were usually fresh fruit plucked or picked, and we only had dessert on weekends. This WOE is vastly different from the standard American diet, and I believe it's what saved me from a sweets/sugar addiction. So giving thanks to my parents for all their hard work in feeding me and teaching me how to appreciate nature's bounty. 🍊🍋🍎🍅🌽🫑🥕🧅🥦
